The Havana Big Sails Challenge is designed to promote person-to-person intercultural exchange through the sport of sailing. The Havana Challenge organizing committee has worked with Commodore Jose Miguel Diaz Escrich to obtain all of the necessary permits and permissions to launch the inaugural event on March 29, 2016.
Fanning sails will waft in the breeze when the Havana Big Sails Challenge pulls into port on March 29, 2016. These Big Sail Vessels are crewed by seasoned captains and professional crewmembers. Maritime activities at Marina Hemmingway will give local visitors a chance to meet the crew and experience the rich maritime heritage that these ships represent.
Who Is Taking Part? Ocean capable, dual-engine (or more) powered, pleasure craft are participating in this historic event.
