2016 Cat Challenge

The second annual Havana Cat Challenge is an amateur sporting competition designed to promote person-to-person intercultural exchange through the sport of sailing.  Thousands of Cuban citizens will be able to participate in the event by watching races from the Malecon, in Havana.  Many will attend the awards ceremony as well.

When it comes to adventure, an extreme sports competition is the ultimate experience. The Havana Challenge elevates the feat with a surprise guest star, the forever unpredictable Mother Nature.

Racers will have the opportunity to shakedown boats on the days prior to the race.

The Gulf Stream 100 will be the Key West-to-Havana leg of the race. LeMans start in Key West triangle finishing in at the buoy in front of Morro Castle in Havana.

#2 The Copa de Amistad

The Malecon will be a series of races that include the US based sailing teams as well as Cuba based sailing teams including the Cuba National Sailing Team and Olympic sailing competitors. Traditional start.
